CHARACTER INFO

Character Name: Marisa Kirisame
Character Canon: Touhou Project

History: CANON 1, CANON 2 (18 games plus 90% of the Manga)

AU History: The Kirisames were not known for much. Just a bunch of hard working people who didn't seem to let much get to them. Highly active in their communities and always willing to lend a hand to help things out. There never were any Enlightened in their midsts and the family seemed to like it that way. They viewed them as the cause of everything, lazy by letting their abilities do the work for them and tried to keep interactions with them as minimum as possible. Their views were not the norm. They knew it well and tried to keep it quiet by trying to keep to themselves, Although if they were contacted they would just do their job and move one quickly.

Unknowingly, as the fates would have it, that would all change when Marisa was born. They didn't know it until she was about 3 but even once they found out, she was to be raised as if she was not, never telling her of what she was. This would go on until the age of 6 when on a family trip, Marisa wandered off and ended up in trouble. She wandered into a group of Diglett and Dugtrio that had snuck in under the walls, which ended up attacking her. Unfortunately with her rescue, Her mother was killed as she stayed behind to let her father escape with the hurt girl. As she recovered, the doctors found out what she was and gave her a item to help her in the future, a broom with the flying typing attached to it.

That changed the relationship with Marisa and her father forever and at the age of 10, Marisa ran away from home. Knowing she could be turned in and sent back home just for living on the streets, Marisa thought of a better way to survive. She would ask her friends to stay for a little while, earning money from whatever she could find and leaving to the next home that would let her stay around. Yes, She was still caught and told to go home, even escorted home a few times..but she would continue, as she liked what she was and didn't want to let her family stop her.

Marisa helped out with the Old city when things got bed enough to move her and her best friend into action before their home was hurt any further, although along the way another moment of fear nearly had her running if not for her friend there. Although when they got to the machines that were bothering the pokemon and causing the quakes were silent and dead.

Her next bit of time was quiet, hopping from home to home to try and avoid the guard and anyone who would..at least until the tournament rolled around. She gathered up her pokemon she had been bonding with and leaped head first into it...only to lose the first round. She watched for another few rounds, cheering her best friend on until the guard spotted her and took her back to her father. That ended up with a large fight between Marisa and her father, ending with him locking her into her room to try and keep her from 'The evils of the Enlightened'. He missed her Warp Band and left her pokemon with her, which was a mistake. She ended up running off once more, temporarily staying at the Hakurei shrine with Reimu.

She wanted to make her decision about staying permanently eventually but....Something was calling to her. She needed to train herself and check out her other option. Without saying a word, except to her pokemon to stay, Marisa took off to train. She was doing fairly well when she ran into trouble. A group of pokemon had been watching her and were not happy with a human being there. The decided to attack her and ended up knocking her out, as there were a few ground types there. She was rescued by another Enlightened/Ranger (Depending on if another person apps in or not) and brought back in. As her Warp band had been broken during the encounter, it would take her a while to let Union know she was alive still...

Canon Personality: Three words come to mind when one would think of Marisa- Carefree, Thief and INSANE. She will happily go around doing what she wants to do, even causing trouble. She is sly though, and will try and twist words and situation to gain an advantage or even get away with something. She will lie even if it's obvious that she is the cause of everything.

She is well known for her thieving habits. She is so bold that she will go to the owner and tell them she is 'borrowing' the item she is after and take off with the target. She is a bit of a pack-rat; all of the items she steals will end up in the same place, being wherever she's calling home at that time. If you ask her where the item is, she will point to a random pile of stolen items unless she is actively using it. She is the only known person to sneak into the Scarlet Devil Mansion and escape numerous times alive, after all!

Unknown to most, Marisa works very hard for everything she does. Unlike others who are naturally gifted with magic, Marisa is an ordinary human. Every spell or ability she uses is a product of many sleepless nights along with her sweat, blood and tears. She is well-versed in the art of breaking down a magical spell or ability to its base roots and making the spell her own to use. A good portion of her time is spent on this, when not flying around stealing and causing a bit of trouble.

There are a few things that set her off. She isn't inclined to talk about her family; it is assumed at a young age, her and her father had a falling out, which lead her to her teacher. In that same line, she won’t speak of her former teacher as well; Marisa has not spoken of her since her disappearance. These are very touchy subjects for her and will either change the subject or throw a spell at the person who brought it up. Misused or under-used powers also bug her. Also: Don't touch the hat. She will hurt you.

She claims to be insane and most believe her. This stems from known mind effecting abilities and situations not affecting her. (Resien's Red Eyes and the full moon from Imperishable Night) Some believe it is due to her experiments with her mushrooms and other magical substances. This does not mean she is immune to this, but only she might treat it as normal.

There is one thing that she will not ignore, that being a challenge. Either a friendly challenge or a fight, she will not back down. Solo or team, she will see it through to the very end, even if that means not winning it.

She's not a bad person to be around if you can befriend her. Other than the casual pranking, she will help out, for a lesser price than others, or even protecting you if needed.

AU Deviation:

Marisa is a runaway from her father. Her family decided to try and prevent her abilities to be noticed. She ended up running away because she refused to let her self be held back. She usually is staying with friends until someone will tell on her or someone notices and arrests her. That being said, she does find ways to give back to whoever has the heart to let her stay. Even if it's just leaving a small envelope of money somewhere that would be spotted after she leaves.

Unlike in canon where she is full power or nothing, Marisa does have a bit of a buffer on herself. She is quite aware of her own weaknesses and even thought she tries desperately to cover them, they show. As a child she found out rather quickly about her weakness to Ground types so is very wary when they become involved in things.

Canon Abilities: -Her magic- She knows many spells ranging from a simple fire spell to a barrier type spell. If it's magic, she will do everything she can to learn it and make it her own.

- Danmaku!- Not deadly in Marisa's case...Mostly. Or at least she doesn't use those spells anymore. There are rules to this. Most of Marisa's spell cards are not very destructive, Except any that involve her favorite spell. (Master Spark. The card lists are Here, Here, Here, Here and Here )

-Flight. She can do this without the help of her broom. (The broom is for show)

-Potion Making- She's well-versed in the art of potion making although this isn't her main focus most of the time. Most of them are made from the mushrooms she is so fond of.

-Thievery- This is one thing she is well known for. Whether it be a magic spell, book or some other object that has caught her eye, she will steal it with her typical, "You can have it back when I'm dead!”

Enlightened Abilities: Marisa will be a God of War trait so her typing is Electric/Fire/Normal! Her normal attacks would be balls of Electricity or Fire while her big and most well known attack in canon would be a mixture of the two, Making a Large laser she calls 'Master Spark'. It's very slow to charge at first (2-3 minute) and has a short duration of about 20-30 seconds and is a small laser.

Marisa's Normal typing only comes into play for keeping the most extreme changes being too noticeable or at least too physical. Her first evolutions will make her more resistant to fire and heat and power up her fire abilities. Also it would be easier to combine the two types into the laser and reduce charging time (Down to a minute) and incress the duration and size of the laser. (2 feet size and a 40 second duration)

Her secondary evolution will make her eyes shine and spark a bit, almost making them glow. Her Electric attacks will be powered up even more and make her able to combine the two fully to power up her main move, Master Spark. (30 second charge time, 4 feet size and a minute duration.)

Master Spark will always wear her out though and she will have to rest in between. As she gains her evolutions the rest period will also go down but still will be no shorter then 5-10 minutes before she can attempt another Master Spark.

Her item will be a broom imbued with the Flying type, just so she can keep up with her best friend mostly!

She will also have a, currently powerless, Mini Hakkero which she will eventually be looking to get imbued with either Fire of Electric. (This is going to be a goal of hers, to do it herself. So this will be FAR into the future if she is allowed later on.)

Starter Pokémon: Eevee (Nicknamed Spark who is a Jolteon now! Also has Magus the Haunter and Yuuka the Cherrim)

Notes/Special Considerations: Still a runaway! But she's going to be staying at the shrine so yeah.

Also- I did get lost for a while on levels. How many points would be available to fix up where I lost track (Minus the month she was gone obviously)

-What do you feel your role in Union is?
My role? I dunno, Maybe help protect everythin' from rouge attacks and doin' whatever it takes ta keep things safe. It's not safe and I wanna make sure that things can be better.

-What do you look for in the Pokémon with whom you bond?
Potential. I mean, a Pokemon ya first meet might be all strong and nice but if they don't seem like they'll get better, there really isn't a reason ta try and bond with them. Strength and power is nice but if ya look at what might come up and over power it, it's not good ta work with.

-What area do you seek to explore? The peaceful forest, in search of new, previously overlooked discoveries; the uncharted caves, in search of the unknown; or the wildest of mountain terrain, in search of danger, adventure, and thrills?

Obviously the mountain terrain! No risk, no reward! Besides, Who doesn't like a little adventure from time ta time? Besides, it'll make someone work harder ta find what they are lookin' for and keep those who wouldn't want to risk anythin' away.

-When encountering a rare and powerful Pokémon, what is most important? Researching it, bonding with it, or defeating it? Why?
Well As much fun as it would be ta bond with it I think I'd rather research it. Besides, It might have a awnser ta a issue we would be havin' and what it could teach us could solve it.

Now if the awnser involved havin' ta bond with it, then of course I'd bond with it.

-You plunge into the depths of the Old City. What is it that you seek from the past? Treasure, technology, wisdom?

Treasure of course! I mean, it's got ta have some really cool stuff ta find! (She is somewhat lying on this. She would also go for the wisdom due to the fact it might help her figure her ablities out and help others with problems.)

-What strengths make you most qualified for your role within Union?
I'm a Enlightened! Of course that's not all, I know that doesn't mean much when there are quite a few of us roamin' around. But it doesn't mean everyone will use what they were given ta help.

I mean for all we know, someone might try ta take over and use their ablities ta cause a lot of chaos. So some of us have ta be ready ta take them down.
